DX Image Module
The Image module converts all of the geometry produced by a DX program in
a picture. The module also supports several other functions including:
- Saving an image to file in PostScript, YUV, TIFF or RGB format.
(File menu--Save Image).
- Printing an image in PostScript format.(File menu--Print Image).
- Navigating through a scene.(Options Menu--ViewControl).
- Calculating and displaying coordinate axes. (Options Menu--Autoaxes).
- Performing utilities such as changing the background color of the image
and the number of bits displayed. (Options Menu).
An image window is opened by the Image module
whenever it executes. By default, all of the objects in the scene are shown
viewed from the positive z-axis, with the y-axis toward the top of the
window. The ViewControl selection in the Options menu is used often to change
your viewpoint, to zoom in/out, and to explicitly change the camera parameters.
The ViewControl dialog box is shown below. The mode selector determines
what the mouse controls when it is in the image window. The view selector
provides a repeatable way of viewing an object from certain directions. The
projection selector allows you to chose orthographic or perspective viewing.
The reset button changes the view back to the default view. To the right of the
ViewControl dialog box is the popup menu which appears when you click the
mode selector.
