New York Student Sustainability Coalition (NYYSC) - Kyoto has focused its efforts this semester on achieving statewide CO2 reduction targets, similar to NJ legislation.  A summit was held late last semester to establish this organization, which includes students in universities all over NY state. There are lobbying trips planned, and involvement is welcome.  KyotoNow contact: Katherine (kpm35@cornell.edu).

Support Federal Carbon Tax through Local Government Resolutions
Become an advocate or take a few moments to encourage someone else to.
1] Easy: Find a friend or relative anywhere in the U.S. except Tompkins County, who could volunteer an hour a week to work with a city or county government on this Initiative for a few months, contacting elected officials to get the resolution on the agenda until it comes up for a vote. The only training required is reading the sample resolution at www.federalcarbontax.org. I'll be available for free email or phone
consultation. To locate an advocate, one could copy and send out the suggested text on the Outreach page at www.federalcarbontax.org to email lists.
2] Project to become an advocate: Students whose origin is outside of Tompkins County could volunteer an hour a week to work with the home city or county government on this Initiative for a few months. More information is at www.federalcarbontax.org. I'll be available for free email or phone consultation.
