Cornell Renewable Energy Fee - This has been an ongoing campaign within Kyoto
for about 4 years now.  The idea was to charge every student $5 towards
purchasing renewable energy for campus.  Last year a referendum was passed
within the student assembly support such an addition to the student activity
fee.  However, red tape has stalled the project once again.  Help needed.

Energy Independent Caroline seeks volunteers for massive CFL distribution
BACKGROUND: In 2005, the Town of Caroline in Tompkins County became the 2nd municipality in New York State to purchase 100% windpower for municipal use. Now, Energy Independent Caroline is developing a business model to produce sufficient wind energy to power the entire Town of Caroline's 1,200 households, roughly 2.5 megawatts of electricity.Ê As part of a grassroots education & outreach campaign, Energy Independent Caroline has received over $4000 to distribute one compact-fluorescent lightbulb (CFL) to every household in the Town of Caroline -- roughly 1,500 households. OPPORTUNITY: You can help by joining a joint Cornell University/Ithaca College planning team to organize & execute the massive CFL distribution. Volunteers are needed for a variety of skills and tasks to successfully organize the distribution day, tentatively scheduled for late March.
MEETING: Come and get involved in this exciting CFL distribution project. Our first planning meeting is:Ê ÊSaturday February 9 at 12:00 nooon, 206 Stewart Ave, Apt. 1Ê(btwn E. Buffalo St. and E. Seneca St.) ÊMap
